Spring Bazaar

Det var ju ett par veckor sedan nu, Spring Bazaar. Men liksom förra året var det kul! Kul att få visa upp sig och sina grejer som man har gjort och försöka sälja av lite lager (så man kan göra ännu mer).

Sedan var jag även helt desperat att få ha på mig något plagg som jag sytt själv, så därför stannade jag uppe halva natten för att sy färdigt en pennkjol. Hoppas den går att se bra på bilden. Jag är supernöjd! Egenritat mönster (från mönsterkonstruktionskursen i skolan). Älskar även tyget. När jag såg det så pratade det till mig och sa;
"Hej, jag är din nya pennkjol"
Och ja, så blev det. Tänkas vad tyger har rätt ibland.

Fint va? Just därför har jag så svårt att hålla mig från att gå tillbaka och köpa ännu mera för att fylla i butiken.

Så, vill ni ha en lika fin kjol som jag, eller något annat, så hittar ni tyget här, pris 95 kr/meter på 144 cm's bredd.

Eller vad tycks?
Har ni några marknader inplanerade för våren?

Spring Bazaar!

This Thursday the Community Center here in Taipei held their annual Spring Bazaar, this year a salute to all the women around the world on the International Women's Day! And for the first time ever, Mrs Bao took the big step out in the "real" world to sell some stuff. :)

It was a lot of fun! I met old friends and new friends. And I think it went very well, I managed to get me some pocket money, (which I think a lot of you housewives know, sure it's fun to spend "your husbands" money, but to get some cash of your own? That's different.)

Then things that got the most attention was probably the pacifier holders, for all of you that don't live here, pacifiers are not so common. But after some explaining, they all said "aaaahhh.... of course"

Another thing that caught the attention was the fabric bundles (when laying flat on the table).
- What's this? Is it face masks?
But in the end, they sold pretty well since it's a nice way to decorate especially kids room, and a nice gift for baby showers, as well as the burp cloths.

Last but best, is this little car. It belongs to my son, 3 1/2 years old. He gave it to me in the morning before I went out the door to go to this event, he wanted me to have it. So sweet. And I kept it at the table during the whole event.

If you were at the bazaar, and regretting you didn't buy something, send me an email at: mrsbao.agneta@gmail.com
And if you did some shopping already, thank you so much! You have no idea how happy you all made me.

The sun will come out!

Spring Bazaar means spring, and spring means sunny days, and sunny days means sun in your eyes. Therefor, you need a sun hat. Here are some in different styles that I will bring to the Spring Bazaar. Most of them for kids but there'll be a few for mom too.

This one made in a beautiful japanese Kokka fabric!

Finally! Äntligen! Entlich! Por fin! 終於!

I am finally finished with the work with stiffening the crochet earrings! It took a couple of tries but I now feel they're starting to look like they should. I even made my own earring display made out a nice and clean (and not too expensive) frame from Ikea.

This pineapple design is my favorite! I hope I can make more before the big day, 8th of March right?

I hope to see you at the Spring Bazaar!

DIY gone too far?

For the upcoming Spring Bazaar organized by the Community Center in Taipei I thought I'd be very crafty and make my own plastic bags.

A full tutorial you can find over at "Dana made it".
Basically you cut up your plastic bags, melt a few together using an iron (don't forget the oven paper!). Then you cut it, and then you sew it together. Quite a big job for something that's just to be given away.

I managed to make 5, I might just give them away to the first customers. But I do hope that most people can think eco and bring their own bags, since I still haven't found a "good-looking-solution".

But it's a funny and low-cost idea, just very time consuming. I think I'm gonna try a few in muslin as well.... *s* At least I don't have to make the fabric myself!

Can you tell I'm getting nervous? I tend to have very crazy ideas while nervous...
